Coronado Communities

Although a small city in San Diego County, Coroando offers a number of distinct living environments for its residents. The Coronado Village encompases the main city and offers a traditional small town lifestyle with the ability to walk anywhere in the town. In addition, it offers children the ability to meet and play in the many parks thorughout the city. The Coronado Cays is a PUD(planned unit development) built to serve the many sailors who enjoy the ability to dock their boat in their slip located in their own backyards. Lastly, the Coronado Shores is a Condominium Development located just south of the Hotel Del Coronado and offers beach front living in a multi-story building environment.

Coronado Village

The Coronado Village was developed to generate money to help finance the building of the Hotel Del Coronado in the 1880's. Many of the earliest residents of the town were the employees of the hotel and builders whom helped in building the hotel and stayed on to build many of the buildings still standing in the city today. The Coroando Shores was built in the 1970's and initially was considered by many as an eyesore in the community. Over the years, the shores as it is called by locals has a devote following of supporters who wouldn't live anywhere else in the city. MORE...

Coronado Landing

Coronado Point
